Most questions about Pastely are about turning the keyboard on, so that one is first.
The keyboard doesn't appear when I tap the globe
It has to be switched on once, in Settings:
- Settings → Apps → Pastely → Keyboards
- Turn on Pastely
- Turn on Allow Full Access
Then, in any app, tap the text field and hold the globe key to pick Pastely from the list.
My snippets are missing from the keyboard
That is almost always Full Access being off. iOS seals third-party keyboards off from the rest of the app until you allow it, and without it the keyboard cannot read what you saved. The same three steps above fix it.
Full Access does not let Pastely send anything anywhere — see the privacy policy.
What is a fill-in template?
A snippet with blanks in it. When you tap it in the keyboard, Pastely asks for each blank in turn — a name, an amount, a date, a time, or a choice of options — and pastes the finished sentence. A blank that appears twice is asked once and filled in both places.
Why can't I type the answer in the keyboard?
Because a keyboard has no keyboard to type into — iOS gives you one at a time, and while Pastely is up, it is the one. So the blanks it can answer with buttons, it does: a number pad for amounts, a wheel for dates and times, one button per option for a choice.
A blank that needs words is handled the other way round, and all of them together, on the last step. Tap Paste and type and the message goes in with the cursor already waiting where the words belong — you type them into the message itself, which is where you were going to type them anyway.
What if a template has more than one of those?
Only one cursor exists, so they cannot all be gaps:
- The first one is where the cursor is placed. The rest of the message is already there, and the next thing you type goes straight into it.
- The others are pasted as
[Label]— the name you gave the blank, in square brackets. Double-tap one and type over it.
Two of them are still one step, not two: once the first is left for the cursor, what happens to the rest is already decided, so there is nothing to ask twice.
And if what you want is already in the field or on the clipboard, that same step offers it — taking it fills every place that blank appears in the template, which typing over brackets would not.
What does Pro include?
- Unlimited snippets, lists and fill-in templates — the free plan holds 5, 2 and 1.
- iCloud sync across your devices.
The free plan does not expire, has no ads, and never locks what you already saved. Snippets stay readable, pasteable and exportable whether or not you pay.
I paid but Pro isn't on
Open Pastely → Settings → Restore purchases. If it is still off, make sure the device is signed in to the same Apple Account that made the purchase.
Managing or cancelling a subscription
Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Pastely. Cancelling during the free trial means you are not charged.
Getting your snippets out
Settings → Export CSV, in the app. Export is never gated behind Pro — your own text is yours to take with you.
